Fast Road / Track Set Up Advice

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

can you recomed me a good suspension set to put on my 1989 gti. Its suspension is curently standard however i want to change it to something with would suit the track better.

The car currently runs a gti6 engine however i do plan to run a fair bit more than the standard engine :)

Previous on my old 205 I used a set of excentric top mounts, gaz coilovers, compbrake lower arms and 309 drive shafts on the front of the car.

Im tempted to do the same again however is their a more cost efective way or simply a better set up which someone could suggest?

Thanks Jamie

Good to see you back with a GTi! :)

I guess the main question would be what you're actually doing with it?

I wouldn't bother with the cheaper Gaz(or any other cheapies for that matter) coilovers, and go for some Koni/Bilsteins at similar pricing, with Eibach springs.

its probably going to end up been superccharged and only been used on the track or having fun in on a sunny day etc.

would you only change the struts and springs or can you recomend anything else. also where is the cheapest place to get bilstiens
