Center Bearing On A Diesel 309

Recommended Posts

omega

got a 309 diesel lump that i was going to use in a project but not going to use it now so stripped it down today to scrap

as it was complete with gearbox thought id take box and shafts out to make it lighter

ive done a search and people say to remove the shaft you release the 2 11m bolts and twist them

does this apply to the diesel?as they dont have a elongated slot [dont no if petrol ones do either as ive never done one]so im confused

also its only the nuts that are undoing

what am i doing wrong

Undo the nuts till they are near the end. Hit the nut with a hammer to push the bolt through the alloy casing. Then you can twist them 90 deg, and drive the centre bearing out.
