Reverse Light Switch [where]

hi is the switch the one on top of the gearbox near the clutch cable lever ? ive not got a live to these wires if it is [brown and white]

although when i put a live to them hoping the reverse light will come on a relay clicks? on one wire and the other is earthed ,, the relay that clicks is one of them near the bulkhead .... but still no light at the back .

 

any suggestions ? cheers

Reverse switch is on the front near the top of the gearbox. I beleve that they are brown and purple wires. If you connect the 2 wires together this should put the light on. Note be1 (Reverse next to first) gearboxes have two small spade terminals in a plug. I can not vouch for the be3 (reverse next to fifth).

Have you fitted a new bulb? Also it is possible that the switch has a dead short the earth and this will cause it to blow the fuse when reverse is selected.

 

You can just see it in this picture. It is the black bit.
