Radiator Cores

So I managed to damage my current rad, so I'm wanting a core to make a new one, same footprint as it were, but slightly thicker to help keep it cool.

 

Any suggestions other than PACE where I could get a rad core?

Says they re-con radiators so I guess they can.

what you're describing is pretty much a TD rad, not sure if the end tanks are thicker as well as the core on them though, that may be the only issue with what you want done i.e a certain depth end tank can only take a certain depth core.

I did think about a TD rad, but for the £150-odd they seem to cost, I'd rather just get a new core and make my own end tanks, I can then also incorporate the mounts I want for rad fans etc,

I picked up a TD radiator brand new off E GAY for about £40 but you need the TD bottom hose though

Blimey that was a bargain, the cheapest I could find a new one was £129+VAT!

 

Luckily Mike Yorke came up trumps with a good used one, complete with delivery option to Sheffield!

I paid £55 ish from Euro car Parts for a TD rad as the cheaper Nissens version which is around £40 was out of stock at the time.

 

TD Alloy core with 1 larger vein rather than 2 small ones like the standard gti rad.

 

Cools my v6 very well
