Any replies would be much appreicated as I have a converted loom on the way and its going to be different to plugs on my car, unless I've got the wrong ones ?

They are the only to brown plugs I could see there though. I don't know.

I can't answer your specific question as to why you have a 10 and 4 pin (just left of the steering column), but check the wire numbers against the brown multi-plug guide to first check you have the correct ones. E.G. 76 (white) for the fuel pump.

If they are the correct wires but just with different plugs, then it shouldn't be too hard for you to make new connectors and match all of the wires up.

Someone else may have a simpler answer, but you could still have the same problem.

Thanks rich, I'm in the house now watching football lol yeah your right I think the plan is to do as you just said and check the wire numbers against a diagram or the guide done by nokolai.

I was just wondering if someone knows why I have different plugs, maybe the phase 1 was different see, be nice if someone has an answer.

I will check the wire numbers tommorow and see what wires I have. But I am going to be a few wires short, (I thinky

Thanks again rich, hope some knows why lol ! !

A phase 1.5 car like yours should have the correct plugs under the dash - it's only proper Phase 1's that are different. Certainly all the F reg cars I've seen have had the normal 9 and 6 pin plugs.

Just a thought, but you did count the pins and not the wires, didn't you? I ask because there's normally only four pins used in the 6 pin plug (starter, fuel pump, earth, and rev counter on a Phase 1.5) and whilst there's only 9 pins on the other plug, there will be 10 wires coming out of it - the ignition feed has two wires coming out, one for the tachymetric relay, and one for the coil and ignition amp.

Well thanks anthony, I stupidly assumed that (well its not stupid thinking bout it) people called it a six pin because all six of them was used. Never mind I now know. Thanks again.
