Weld Through Primer

Recommended Posts

Pugnut

never had the need to use this stuff before, but for spot welding my roofskin on i'll need something in behind the panels.

A quick google and it seems they don't alwys do what they say on the tin, and i may even be able to use zinc 182 which i already have.

Any sound advice?

Al

I use U-POL stuff, which conveniently can be bought off the shelf from your local Halfords. Seems to do the job.

cheers Tom.

I can recommend the UPOL stuff too. very good. Make sure you get it from Halfords though £11 as its £24 from my other local motorfactors!

Used both Upol and Zinc 182 and seems to have been similar in performance.

Does what it says on the tin

Dont know what the stuff I use is called (spilt it all down the tin  ) It says "zinc spot/mig weld primer" , It's good stuff, was recomended it by the guy in the paint shop. I've done my whole car in it, and have had no problems spot welding. :D
