I've bought a '93 GTX carb'd and wondering what engine it has in? And any other details like subframe, suspension set up as its low as standard. Lookin at a gti/mi16 conversion for summer so wondering what i'd have to change. Cant seem to find gtx specs

The GTX was a later limited edition with the XS style body, 3 door with a 1.4i engine, which appeared after the XS had ceased production.

You sure its on a carb?? Might have been messed with at some point

The SPi unit on these early TU injection engines is usually mistaken for a carb.....

After a closer look it is an injection, i wanted a carb engine lol. Being an upgraded xs i take it that it will need the subframe etc... changing if i was to fit a gti/mi16 engine. Is the swap any easier by the fact its an SPi??

Are you going to run carbs or injection/TB's on the new engine?

Not too sure yet, i'm not after squeezing as much bhp under the bonnet as i can, just wanna nice fast conversion, prob run injection/tb's, especially if its easier for fitting?

You should already have the tank for injection, which is one less thing to change (unless SPi uses a different type of pump?)
