Wiring In Gauges

im going to put a few more gauges in my car including a voltage gauge and was wondering what would be a good enough switched live to power them all or what anyone else has done, 3 gauges in total all electical type

I've used the stereo switched live in the past for my gauges. Although now i've cut all of that loom out of my car so i have to find somewhere new for it. You can use the dimmer switch for the gauge illumination which works quite well.

yes good point thanks, I will try that although i cut back the stereo wiring a little just have to work out which wire that is now, will it be fine for the voltage gauge too?

It's a thick, light blue one if i remember correctly. Not sure about the voltage gauge, never done one of them before.
