How The Hell Do I Remove My Seats

Am currently taking front seats out to clean the carpet. I have folwed the haynes manual in removing the 2 torx bolts at the rear of each runner. But it then says to remove the bolt for under the car. I cant find any bolts under the car under the seats. I know the bolts at the front of each runner that i need to undo but dont know how to. They just wont budge. I know i havnt got the right tools but even if i did i dont think they would move. Any one??? Im going insane here...

can't remember for which ones, but you can get to the threads under the car for some of them, which gives you more options

 

you're best off using good quality torx bits in a ratchet - if you start rounding them, stop!

The boltheads are inside the car on the seat rails, the threads go through the bodyshell and are exposed under the car and corrosion here often needs to be removed before they will undo. Basicallly you need to get under the car and clean the threads with a wire brush or something then hope you can get them undone without resorting to grinders etc. If you do get them to start turning dont continue, wind them in and out a bit at a time.

there is honestly nothing under the seat on my car, its just a smooth piece of metal.

Look in the exhaust tunnel near the handbrake.

I think you need to get the right tools. I had a similar problem and couldn't get enough weight behind it at first, but once I had some bigger tools they came out without me needing to get under the car

Put your seat all the way back and look at the front of the runner and you should see a torx headed bolt on each one. Then put your seat all the way forward and tilt it (as if you were letting someone into the back) look at the back of the runners and you should see more torx bolts. Undo them all and the seats come out.

 

Just be careful not to round them off cause if you do you're f***ed!
