Plasticare-ing Interior

Posted this on an old plasticare thread but thought it might be best to make a new one.

 

Hey im looking to buy some black plasticare for my car, im also after a black (rather than grey) interior. I have heard people talking about how you could use plasticare on the interior. Has anyone done this?? If so pictures would be great, if not any opinions on how it would work. I think it would dye the harder plastic fine, just not sure about the cussiony stuff infront of the passenger.

thanks looks like ill be on ebay buying some then. Will it work on the more (i dont know how to describe this) cusiony part of the dash like the streering wheel? thanks

Not sure about the steering wheel but eBay does leather dye for bits like that, Plasticare should be fine on "cusiony" bits as sun visors are sponge covered in vinyl and it works great on them.

thanks real help, guess il get on that then. I will get pictures up when i finaly get round to it. There is the small rather more important job of making the car water proof. Haha

Make sure you only do thin layers and let it dry completely inbetween coats otherwise it wont dry properly.
