Charge Light On

Hi guys,

 

The charge light is on all the time. Lights very weak at idle and lights up bright when I rev the engine.

 

Also, the the red light in the water temp gauge lights up when ever the engine is started. Although the water temp indicater works fine(no boiling water!).

 

The battery is charged both at idle and when reved.

 

Mi16 engine on original 205 1.9 gti loom.

 

What can be wrong? Where should I look for grimlings?

Sounds like the thinner wire to the alternator is disconnected.

Have a look at THIS. I would think the brown multiplug is your problem.

I´ll check the alternator wire. I´ve already disconnected the brown mulitplug. I´ll check if my rewiriring is ok.

 

I´ve taken of the reverse light swich and therefore those two wires are just hanging loose...could this cause the charge light to come on?
