Oil Recomendations

Hi

 

I have a peugeot 205 Gti with a Skip Brown GTi-S Conversion

 

Im going to do a oil and filter change tomorow what make of oil and grade would people recomend ?

 

Also would you recomend a flush ? I was also going to add some slick 50?

 

Any help apreciated

any decent 10W40 should do, I try and use stuff like Total Quarts 7000 when I can get it at a decent price.

SBC recommend Shell oils iirc but I use Fuchs XTR semi synthetic 10w40 which I get from GSF (cheaper than some places :)).

 

Recommended by oilman so it can't be all bad.

 

I use a flush additive every year but not every service.

 

If you have a good enough oil additives like slick50 aren't needed & some people doubt they even work except for clogging up tiny oilways.

 

I wouldn't bother.

Yeah i have had advice from oilman before very good (Wasnt sure what forums he was on now not seen him post)

 

Think ill bin the Slick50

 

and get some Fuchs

Again the Fuch's, it saved a customers even with no oil pressure for around 10 miles

Oilman can be found on this forum from time to time. A quick search will find him or just give the Opie oil dude's a bell.
