hello guys just a quick question wat should my 205 gti 1.6 be ticking over at its ticks over at the moment at 1000 rpm is that right i have a k&n air filter fitted ??

mine idled around 1000rpm. 900 is around perfect but 1000 is fine

850-900rpm according to http://www.205gtidrivers.com/info/techspecs.html

 

950-1000 does tend to work a bit better with older components.

 

Its worth noting that 205 tachos are pretty inconsistent so its best to just set it where it works well IMO

when u say old components wat are u aiming at so i can buy new ones

Distributor, air flow meter etc. I wouldn't replace them if they aren't broken though, new ones are prohibitively expensive and they will probably be fine for years even if the idle isn't 100%.
