Small Sealed Battery

Recommended Posts

Matt Holley

Im am after a new battery for the 205, I want a sealed battery thats faily small in size but not a red top etc as I had a red top 15 that died after a few months.

It needs to have a decent cranking amp as my engine is a high comp gti6, it lives in the cabin so needs to be sealed.

I have seen a battery for an mx5 that seams to fit the bill but wonderd what others use?

Mx5 battery is here http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/635

Thanks

Have a look at some S2000 batteries too, when ours needed replacing i was surprised how light it was. I paid about £35-40 for it.

In fact, it's probably similar with alot of Japcrap.

be aware of the terminals used though, a lot of jap stuff use small posts.

Post size isn't a problem as I will end up changing the ends anyway as with the red top fitted its only got eyelets.

I've got three 15Ah SLA's, connected in parallel, in a plastic case, mounted in the cabin, connected via an Anderson plug. It has no problem turning over a 12:1 2L engine.

Golf buggy batteries are apparently not bad for the use you want
