Water Temp Gauge

Ok another problem I noticed today the water temp gauge isn't moving anymore it was working yesterday but not today the red light comes on when you turn ignition on but needle isn't moving anymore? could I have disturbed a wire somewhere under engine? I gather the multiplug red wire is the coolant meter?

Take a look at this thred, tells you all the wires entering the brown multiplug, this is more than likely the culprit, just trace the wire back from the sensor.

what a bag of crap that brown multiplug is yes no wonder the coolant temp guage isn't working the red wire has come out infact rest of the wires don't look very good what to do now?

Just bypass the brown multiplug and wire straight into the loom the other side - you'll likely need to go back several inches from the multiplug to find clean corrosion-free wire though.
