Standard Valeo Clutch Okay For 150-160bhp?

Recommended Posts

As per title really, do you thinka standard 1900gti valeo clutch will be okay running in the region off 155bhp@flywheel?

Obviously a paddle clutch is best but wondering if our fairly new valeo would be upto the job for a few events so my pockets have time to replenish!

its not bhp that kills clutches, its torque (and abuse!)

So do you think the standard valeo clutch will be reliable at 150-160bhp?

I have and do run them without issue or slip on numerous 175bhp+ cars.

Baz what about the 1600 clutch, is that also upto the job?

Just had a conversation over the phone now which makes me think that it was actually a 1600 clutch instead of a 1900 one that we put in the car, any difference between the two?

1900 and 1600 use the same clutch.

In fact, we found out last weekend that a good friend's car that has the minerals to be over 200bhp has been running on an 200mm 8v clutch without issue.
