Injector Query

Am I right in that 1.9 injectors are yellow? only reason I ask is the ones in mine are blue and mine is a 1.9 engine but is a 1.6 shell so would have had 1.6 engine in, hope they put 1.9 injectors in and not just lived with 1.6 ones due to money or something I also have a fueling issue I think at minute overfueling would this be case with 1.6 injectors in?

Yes, blue is 1.6 and yellow is 1.9. A 1.9 will run OK with 1.6 injectors but only if it also has a 1.6 AFM and ECU. Its all or nothing.

well I just had a look and here is the info.

 

my afm is: 0 280 202 056

my ecu is: 0 280 000 340

 

doing a search on here has led me to believe that both these are 1.6 part numbers.

 

So would it be beneficial to get 1.9 injectors, ecu and afm? would it run better? performance?

That is all 1.6 stuff. Like I said it can work fine with a 1.9 and it certainly wont cause it to overfuel, your problem is probably something else. Are you 100% sure it is a 1.9?

yes its definatily a 1.9 mate its got the plate on engine and it says D6B, thats a 1.9 isn't it?

It did look to be running 1600 injection bits when I saw it, but it has the spacer plate on the sump so I think it is a 1900.
