Convert Interior Phase 1 To Phase 2

I have a 1987 205 gti and the dash and trim is in bad shape so looking for a replacment, can a phase 2 black interior be put in and if so do i have to make up brackets. And also what do i do with the heater controls. Are the speedo's the same. cheres

I'd stick with the phase 1 bits myself. You can replace the bits you need with second hand bits bought off eBay or on this forum. Theres not a lot of phase 1 cars left so its nice to see them kept original

I agree with keeping the phase 1 interior. I've done the same, although finding a replacement for the obligatory broken glovebox surround section of dash is still causing me problems after nearly two months of searching here, there and everywhere!

my problem also, tryed repairing it but just doesnt look right. just have look harder. its just out of the paint shop so it looks good outside and would like the inside the same

I'd stick with the phase 1 if you can, but the conversion to phase 2 can be done. Click the "search" button and have a look as it has been covered, i assume its a pain in the ass to do. The phase 1 interior can be a little weak in places, my glove box lid came off in my hands the other day lol.

The conversion is easy if you have all the parts. Basically eveything from the later car inc the heater and loom.

But as said the Phase 1 stuff does come up even new so I;d keep an eye out
