Cti Hood Advice Needed!

I have been offered a power hood/frame including motor etc for a good price, however I own an '86 which is obviously manual and in poor condition. So I am keen to replace for this one which is in very good condition, but need some advice first!

 

I understand that the frames differ, but how?

 

Would it be impossible to take off the manual roof and replace it with the power roof, are the mounting points the same, allowing a bolt off/on job?

 

Is a power roof/frame set up operable without the motors?

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. It should bolt on and off and be ok, however the rear quarter windows are different so you will need power hood ones of those.

 

The frames differ in the way they fold. as the power hood rams push in a certain direction so the whole thing collapses correctly, which is why the rear quarter windows are different. You can't just whack power hood rams on a manual frame and get a power hood.

By the way, does anyone know how the rear quarter windows differ between these two. Without a powerhood model to compare with mine, I haven't a clue!

They have a different profile at the back where it curves:

Not the most obvious pics but you can see the difference in the little strip on the hood behind the glass, the manual one is parallel and the power one slopes. I know someone how put a manual hood on his powerhood CTI and there were gaps
