Be 1 Gearbox Question

As topic really.........

 

I'm about to refit the gearbox back in the car, after fitting a paddle cluch and new pressure plate. The only thing that puzzles me is....... should there be a spring holding the thrust bearing on to the clutch fork?

 

I've bought a new clutch fork from Peugeot and I had a new thrust bearing as part of the clutch kit, but the bearing seems loose???

 

Am I imagining things, or should there be a spring there to hold it in place??

Nope, it just sits over the forks and nothing holds it in place hence you have to be a little careful fitting the box - obviously once the box is on, it can't go anywhere as it's held in place by the pressure plate.

Thanks for that. Looks like the box will be going back in tomorrow morning then before I go down to Caerwent. Looking forwad to driving it now as it's been off the road for nearly a month whilst I've been collecting parts.
