Engine Refuses To Start, Ideas Please

ok so we have a mystery, heres a list of whats been discovered.

the car turns over but just refuses to start

we have a good spark the car has new leads plugs and we've tried a different coil (and got a nice shock :oX( ), it appears to be fueling but will not fire. used some easy start spray and that makes no difference the battery is good, wiring seems to be good. each time we take the plugs out to check the spark they are wet with fuel.

just fishing for ideas here guys throw some thoughts at me anything might help.

You have fuel and spark, so that eliminates some of the usual problems. Does the engine show any signs of wanting to start, or just turn over and over?

Even if the spark was crap, i'd expect at least some signs of life. Plug leads in the right order? Timing correct? :D

That has to be it surely, unless you have the wrong fuel in there?

Inlet blocked (but that's really clutching at straws).

where are you testing for a spark? at the coil or the actual plug leads?

Is yours the later Motronic model as I believe they have a Crank Angle Sensor on the gearbox. If thats sh4gged then the engine won't start. I had a similar problem with my 205 when the Crank Angle Sensor died on it. Replaced with a good second hand one for about £10 and all was good again <_<

I had the same problem a couple of years ago it turned out to be the AFM (air flow meter).

As the others have said check you timing and firing order, but if your plugs are wet i'd say you have flowded it. try drying the plugs and spining the engine over with the injectors disconected a few times. re fit it all up again and try again. i'd crank it with full throttle as if its a bit fuely to start u'll need some more air to get her goin. gl m8.

Basics first - has anything changed since the engine last ran?

Obviously if it ran fine the previous day and then wouldn't start the following morning, there's a much smaller list of possibilities compared to if you've recently swapped the engine for example...

ok the car is definately overfuelling!! the injectors are flooding the plugs big time, if you take the plugs out you can see an ocean of fuel down the hole, turning the engine over with no plugs in it repeatedly blasts an ungodly amount of petrol out of the holes :D . we have tried replacing the ecu and the airflow individually and together but the problem remains. what else could be causing this problem?

any ideas people??

Ok new update, have currently tried replacing, plugs, ecu, injectors-rail-regulator , airflow meter, blue ecu temp sender, had the wiring loom out and all connections are good, compression is good, timing spot on, the hilarious thing is that if you turn it over a few times and then unplug the injectors and turn the key it fires up and runs silky smooth untill the fuel is burned :( . as soon as you start plugging the injectors back in it starts running lumpy till it cuts out. im about to cry, please say theres something stupid im missing? anybody got a magic wand? i can hear the scrap yard calling :(

Have you checked the TPS is working correctly? On my old 205 it wasn't working properly and was reading wide open throttle the whole time
