Brake Disk Rotational Direction?

Recommended Posts

tdr_1976

Just purchased a pair of disks to go onto the car, when I get my "five sided bolts" out of the calliper carriers :)

I wanted to know what rotational direction they should go on each side, or, can I just fit them any direction?

Cheers!

The vanes are straight between both surfaces of the disk.

In that case, that would be a Right hand disc.

In the grand scheme of things performance difference would be negligable on either side, you want to try and have the grooves progressively reach the pad as it rotates, so on that basis i would offer it up to the car and see which way round this would work best, i suspect that will be the right side. (The idea of this is to reduce vibrations which in turn results in noise).
