Hot Techymetric Relay

Recommended Posts

Guest roblemon69

Hi should a techymetric relay get nerly to hot to touch when the car is running?

first off

i had a few running problems the last few days with my idle speed droping from a a constant 900-1000rpm to now 500rpm thats if it dont cut out.

the last few days if i turn the key to start the car one in ten times i get a wierd clicking noise from under the dash and nothing happens no priming of the fuel pump and no starter motor just a click from under the dash.

but when it does prime and the starter runs the car starts fine and apart from the idle problem it runs fine except the techymetric relay is so hot i'm sure its going to melt something. is it ment to get this warm or is my fuel pump dying/clogged ? or could there be something more serious wrong.

any one ?

hi all fitted the new relay still get very warm

the black 7 pin connector nerly burns your hand if touched

pins 87 87b 30 are the pins in the connector that gets warm with pin 30 the first to get very warm/ hot.

does any one know what these pins/wire come from/do or if i can do away with the relay and fit a switch for the fuel pump.
