Fibreglass Bonnet And Polycarb All Round, How Much Lighter?

Hi all

 

Out of interest how much lighter are polycarb windows all round with a fibreglass bonnet compared to glass and standard bonnet?

 

My forest spec rally car on corner weights at the moment is 860kgs and have the above on order, how much weight am I likely to lose?

Not sure about the bonnet, but when I got my polycarb kit, seem to remember it only being 8kg lighter than the glass (Thats 4 windows and rear screen).

However the weight saved by removing the rear wiper motor, washer bottle, electric window motors, window runners, all the wiring and relays and then cutting out all the excess metal in the doors and boot was considerably more!

 

Wish I'd weighed all that lot to see exactly what it came too.

All that was already been removed so the glass and bonnet were the next main items to reduce some weight, the fibreglass bonnet should save some considerable weight though I hope so that 8kg plus that can make quite a difference in the grand scheme of things.

Actually I did have a fiberglass bonnet - although bust the corner off it and replaced it with a lightened standard one - shall dig it out and weigh it later..
