Shortened Inlet Manifolds

Recommended Posts

I was going to try and put a standard lenght manifold on instead of my shortened to see if there is much difference. If any one has done this already and noticed any changes please let me know before I go to the trouble.

What car/engine are you talking about? (I'm guessing Mi16).

It would help if you not only mentioned that, but perhaps included "Mi16" (if that's the case) in the sub-title/topic description as this will help you get more useful replies. Help us help you.

Have you searched? Try 'shortened+inlet+manifold' and see what there is, as I swear it's been mentioned a few times.

Again: this is not being arsey; this is trying to help you get the best from the great people and the huge amount of knowledge on this forum. B)

I started with a shortened manifold when I first completed my Mi conversion but swapped to full length later. Can't be sure if it made a difference as the welds had cracked on the shortened one allowing air in and causing it to kangaroo at low speed. I just figured it was one less thing to fault find with.

I only have experienced the normal length inlet manifold, I had no problems with it whatsover. With a tilted rad I had around 4mm clearance, believe it or not it never struck the radiator.
