What Have I Been Sold?

I was sold 2x brand new Pug boxed rear bearing/hub assemblys for my 309 GTI beam. Ive just gone to fit them and the ABS ring hits the bit the stub axel is pressed into.

 

Im thinking 1 of two things...

 

#1 The bearings are wrong

#2 The beam has disk brake caliper 'hangers' bolted to it but drum brake stub axels

 

Lets start with the simplist option, part number on the bearing boxes are 3748.72 what the hell are they for? With my limited service box skills Ive just searched and it threw up a load of 306 results. Could someone else confirm please?

wrong bearings, no 205/309 had rear abs.

 

 

 

3748 72 HUB ASSEMBLY - SINCE RPO No. 07970 (September 4, 1998)

 

for a 205 you need;

 

 

 

3701 52 DISC HUB

 

 

 

 

306's use longer stub axles with a thicker spacer behind the bearing and a taller offset disc.

I reckon they are 306/Xsara rear bearings.

 

If you come to sell them on I may be interested, as I use these on my own car.

Ok thanks guys, at least it wasnt my stub axles I suppose Im fed up of playing beams now!

Did they come from GSF at all? as they had loads of these in by mistake, I gave up ordering them it was that bad
