205 Gti Sad Testing Question

Recommended Posts

Been reading a lot of post trying to sort out my 205 1.6 gti cold start and fuel problem and want to test the SAD i have read that you can do this by removing it and connecting it to a battery for 10-15 mins my question is do i just use the spare plug i have and connect one wire to + and the other to - or is it tested another way.

Sorry for the dumb question but i have looked at lots of posts and in the Haynes manual but cant find out how to do the actual test.

I have read that one but it don't tell you how to do the test connected to a battery and as i have the SAD off the car to clean it i want to test it that way.

Have cleaned it with carb cleaner and tested the bit inside is moving and it is i have a 12v power supply here so will test it on that as its the same as testing on a battery.

Just tried it on the power supply for 15 mins it almost closed could only see a very small bit of light coming through so have sprayed it with WD 40 and left the heater to cool down and open the hole up again will try testing it again latter to see if it closes this time.
