Cracked Bumper

Hey iv got a crack in the front bumper and the whole bumper (the black bit) needs replacing. How am i going to get hold of one, and how much will it cost. As its an xs its got the lower spoiller with the driving lights, so will i need to take the whole thing off then take it apart or can the black part come off on its own. thanks

ebay, the classified on here, autofive, neat auto's, GSF. the list is endless. the bumper will come off with the lower valance attached. swap over valance onto new bumper and refit.

 

to remove bumper you'll need the grill off to get to the two bolts on the stays, theres also a bolt inside the wings. not hard sus out and a search will help. Its been far too long since i've done one, and heres a free bump!

so i take it that any cars bumper will go straight on?

Am i right in thinking that the bolts are well known for shearing off? Can i just replace them with bolts from local diy shop if they do?

so long as its not a gti bumper as they have holes to mount the trim, and not an all in one base model type bumper.

 

if your bumper hasnt been off for a while then soak with pentrating oil well in advance, but dont expect miracles. the head of the bolts are oblong and flat. if you take the trim strip off the bumper you'll see them. you'll definately need the right bolts again. Its been to long for me to tell you the best place to buy these.
