Vehicle Info On Servicebox?

Recommended Posts

Guest j3nn4

Hi everyone,

Looking for some help using servicebox, I can get part numbers but can't see where to find the other info that people seem to have gleaned from it, e.g. engine code, gearbox code.

I'm also wondering if I can find out the year of the car by putting in the chassis number? I'm pretty sure mine is a pre 1991 because when trying another chassis number the model changed from 205 to 205 FROM MOD 1991. That's as far as I get. The info on the forum specs page put my car at 92-96 so if there is an 'info page' of sorts within servicebox I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Thanks!

put the VIN into the box on the top left hand corner of the screen, that'll direct yo uto the correct section for the age of your vehicle.

for further specific information go to the Technical characteristics tab on the left below the VIN number.

Thanks for replying this has been driving me batty! It doesn't say Technical Characteristics under the VIN, only

Vehicle

>New

>No filter

Documents (SB2P)

>Parts

Did I pick the wrong choice when I signed up for servicebox, I think I chose independent repairer?

Yes and clicked on OK. 205 appears next to the VIN number and Subscriber services(along the top) and Exploded diagrams(below 205) are highlighted in yellow.

I've tried it in Firefox and IE but there's no difference.

ahh, they have changed the layout slightly !

click "euro 5 parts documentation"

after inputting the vin, on the left you'll see characteristics :D

unfortunately for a vehicle this old it will not give a Chassis number or a specific date, just a default 01/01/1990 (for my august 1989 registered one anyway :) )

it will show engine and transmission numbers and engine type.
