Recommended Posts

Hi iv received a loom today for my 1.9 8v and im just wandering does it come in 2 parts as iv got the ecu plugs and then right across into the injectors and the coil BUIT i dont seem to have the starter solenoid and sensor wiring.

Does it come in two parts? Sorri if this is a very silly question but im just wandering.

The starter, alternator and sensor wiring runs through a brown multiplug that sits near the top of the gearbox - sounds like you're missing the part that plugs into that, which has all the spade connectors on the end that connect to the sensors, starter etc.

To be honest, it's far from the end of the world - I tend to remove that section and the brown multiplug anyway and run new wire to all the sensors/starter/alternator as the multiplug is almost always excessively corroded and causes no end of issues - most notably, a prime cause of "clicky starter syndrome"

Basically, yes - although you'll likely have to go back 6-12" from the multiplug to find clean uncorroded wire (ie bright shiny copper, rather than dull brown or green corroded wire that won't take solder and won't give a good connection to crimped connectors)
