Looking After Coilovers

Recommended Posts

Daviewonder

Hi Guys

Im just about to fit some Gaz coilovers to my 205 and I would like to know whats the best way to maintain them, as in pictures I've seen they look like they corrode easily? Should I give them a spray with WD-40 or will this just encourage dirt/salt to stick to them, is there a better way that you Guys know?

Cheers.

WD40 doesnt last long :P thats what I used and they have gone a bit mankey.

Theres a product called FinishKare 1000p which is a high temp synth wax, gives you 6 months ish protection (I have used this on other stuff its good) and I know AutoGlym do a 'Motorcycle protectant' for stuff like this, but I havent used it.

Plus side with the FK1000p is you can wax your bodywork with it too  its about £16 google it :P

Thanks for the reply mate. I've ordered some Autoglym motorcycle protectant so I'll let you know how it works out (in about 6 months time) :P
