Taking The Head Off

Right, the head gasket has gone on a 1.6 engine and so far iv stripped it back to the point where the only thing thats holding it to the block is the head bolts and the timing belt. The question I have is what to do next in relation to the timing belt, I'm not sure what to lock off and what to mark up etc.. any help would be much appreciated.

Yes. You are brave, if not foolish, to attempt to do this job without a Haynes manual.

 

As said, it's free to download in M@tt's signature. Most of the answers you will want are in there.
