try pointing the nozzle to follow the route of the pipe as best as you can overwise you will get splashback

You do now realise that if someone searches for 'Retard', your name's gonna come up?

Having said that, I think mine will too.

That never happened once to me. You are pushing it all the way in and slightly towards the front of the car aren't you?

By the way i have your 4 year battery warranty here :P

Edit: Hang on....you have filled up twice in 305 miles!!!!!???...i left you with over half a tank which should have seen you right for 140 miles!!

Andy , you know that stick thing in the middle of the car, it is a gearstick, you can come out of 1st you know

Well... topped up... cos the car drives much better with a full tank, I read on one of the other forums that a full tanks gives you an extra 10-12 bhp :P

I thought that sticky up thing with numbers on it was the bl00dy clock. No womder i'm late for everything. I'll try to fathom it out tonight Daz! :P

Cool - i'll grab the warranty when you come for me to detail your car mate. I should have a duel action mo fo by then so it'll make light work of that shed

Cheers,

Andy

I always stand at the back of the car rather than directly infront of the fuel nozzle.

me too, if find that some pumps fill it up better than others as well...but can never fill it up at full pump speed or out it spills...

Same here, I stand at the back window and the petrol just randomly throws itself on the floor.

I always point it out to a member of staff but most don't understand the words "petrol" "on" "the "floor".

yup, used to have this problem myself. Corrected my technique and voila' no more petrol stains..!!!!

Try holding the nozzle like a gangsta would hold his gun, twisting it to the front of the car - works I promise.!!

As said before, it's all in the position. Push the nozzle as far in and as far down as possible.

Mine does this, but only at the Shell garage on the front between Swansea and Mumbles. Nowhere else!

I get it intermittently but can always solve with correct positioning. Even at that Shell!

Mine was a trapped breather, someone must have had the tank off and not put it back properly. The air has to come out somewhere! :(

It's all about pointing the pump towards the front of the car. Confused the hell out of me first time i had to fill her up!

I like the way that our little motors have these small quirks!

Now if only the bastard starter motor solenoid would be a bit less fvcking temperamental....
