Sump Design

hi all

does the mi16 sump have a natural angle to it when fitted? (from left to right not front to back)

if the pickup is located centrally in the sump then why does the engine suffer with oil surge more one way than the other? as far as im aware its long hard right corners which effect the mi.

i know where the baffles are often fitted with trap doors but again why does the oil surge more when cornering right?

Thanks

Aaron

mine died going left!

Pickup isn't central either, closer to the right hand side.

I think I have a gti6 MI16 and S16 sumps to reach I can measure though.

I bought an engine that span a bearing (now rebuilt and running), I can only assume it was oil surge but if check my project thread (see my sig) there are a few pictures of the damage
