Nice deals

Autofive

and GSF

Or source the parts on here in the wanted section?

Is it the black/grey bit of the bumper or the lower valance?

£20 odd for a Valeo headlamp from various sources, £100 + vat IIRC for a genuine peugeot bumper.

£25 odd for a trim fitting kit for the bumper, and £20 odd for the red stripe.

+ labour.

I'd try and repair it without getting insurance involved - They'll write it off more than likely, even with as little damage as a busted bumper and headlight in my experience

I got a (granted rear) bumper from GSF for my 205 and it cost me about £30-35. Fitted it with my brother and swapped the red trims over myself (you need a tool to that that? :? We did it manually).

About two and a half years ago a Travis Perkins lorry ripped the rear bumper off the car and caused very minor cosmetic damage to the rear quarte panel. It went through the insurance and I got a payout of £400. One patent bumper costing less than £40 and it looked almost as good as new, thus I profited to the tune of £350. My insurer kept the car still fully insured till the end of the policy and it did not count as a claim.

You can get some second hand parts from my brother in Stoke - www.yorkesport.co.uk as he has quite a bit of stock. If you get one new headlight, you will have to buy a matching new one for the other side!!

As per my previous posts, I'm getting thru' the same senario, lol. Its surprising how quickly the money goes, even using some used parts! New wing and front H'lamp support panel £60. H'lamp and indicator, £38. S'hand bumper £10. Brackets £30.S/hand spoiler £10. Respray...£? and another 50 quid or so for odds and sods. Pain in the ass really. But the insurance WILL say £2k-= write-off! keep it friendly and you will get thru' it. you just got to be a bit creative.

Hi again, the insurance loss assesor (sp) was from my company. A £400 cheque was his first and final offer, all organised within about 1 week of the accident. He said if I wanted to take it further then he was 99% certain the car would be written off and I would then have to buy it back, also the fact that they were happy to still cover the car fully comp until it ran out I wasn't for complaining. My insurance only cost £200 and my valuation of the car was only around the £450 mark anyway. I then sold the car months later for £275, so I was happy, and so was Baz LOL.

That was lucky! Did you forget they were up there?! Maybe you could find more bits and build another car :)

Good luck with the repairs, someone drove into my Polo last month and it's only just getting fixed after a lot of hassle. They insisted on going through the insurance but I managed to get a good quote and I told the assessor I'd be gutted if it was written off because although it's not worth much at least I know its history. I think he felt sorry for me, ha ha

I think the girl who hit me will regret going through the insurance though, she was only 18, I dread to think what she'll be paying next year

Ok I picked my car up from the garage today it's gonna cost 158.00 for headlight and new bumper and cooling fan plus labour, also as I found a new rear bumper that I forgot I had they gona fit for me. I've done them before and it's a pain so I'll leave it to them :)
