Gearbox Question..

was having a bit of a panic last night about gearboxes (again lol)

 

my 205 is one of the last BE1 (lift up reverse)

the last gearbox i had in there was an early mi16 box, so still lift up reverse but i had to change the clucth pedal and cable to BE3 to attach to the mi16 clutch arm

now im fitting a BE3 1.9 gearbox, but my gearstick has the lift up collar

 

will i be able to get reverse under 5th without changing the gearstick or anything else? or do i need to go back to the drawing board and find a BE1 gearbox and swap my cable and pedal back?

 

help please?

It'll all fit and work just fine with the BE1 gear lever, just ignore/remove the lift-up part.

ahh thank feck for that - cheers i was dreaming about gearboxes last night :s can u get sectioned for that

Gearsticks are all the same, and main lever are the same for all xu 205's after 1986.

 

you'll just have a redundant reverse collar and cable

 

I think 7150 T4 is the bung for the hole if you want to remove the cable.

Remove the sleeve and fit the BE3 one or find any tube that goes over it,
