Starting Probs (wiring)

right iv fitted a nother 1.9 8v into my 205 as the other one was knackered. iv wired up the starter and battery as its just 1 wire from the battery across and also the injectors and the coilpack.

I havent put the other little clip thing (slides on like when connecting spades when doing ice) on the alternator or starter but when i turned it over i get nothing.

Im getting lights but then on the final turn it al disappears. Im guessing my wiring amiss somewhere so any hekpo would be great.

any pics of a starter, alternator and ph1 coilpack would be great as i can check my wiring as there werent any labels on it.

sorry about my terminology its not the best but couldnt think how to describe it.

You need to connect the 'little clip thing' on the starter - its the solenoid feed, the starter wont turn without it. It should be fairly obvious which one it is if the wiring is all in place.

Best I can do is that its wire number 46A. I've got an MI16 loom so no doubt the wire colour will be even more inconsistant than usual...

This wire closes the contacts inside the starter that connect the thick battery cable terminal to the motor itself, so without it you will get nothing when you turn the key.
