How To Adjust Cable Opening Quarter Windoews?

Recommended Posts

pugdamo

After cleaning the inside of the windows today i noticed the quater windows arnt closed all the way, also when there open the little black thing that goes through the glass comes away from the window, and before i end up with a swimming pool inside ill adjust the cables if possible. Just wondered where the adjuster is,if there is one at all.

sadly yeti.....your wrong.

adjustment is made behind the rear interior plastics to a maximum of 20mm iirc

pugdamo.......if the ball end in the window pops out of the plastic guide, ther are 2 reasons why it might do this

firstly, the guide is excessively worn allowing ball end to pull through

secondly, does the window sit evenly around the 1/4 window recess? if not, it can be made to fit better by slackening and then tightening the 2 x 18mm headed half nuts which are part of the hinge

I think you have got the circlip/C clip missing off the fitting thats in the glass :D

It slides into the plastic thing that goes threw glass that has the ball end on,goes on inside of window

Pretty sure its part number 8573 19 :P

When i was looking at it i thought there should be some sort of thing to hold that plastic thing in the glass, ill try that part number tomorrow.

Thanks for that, ill have a look at that this weekend when i get 5 minuites (i know it probably wont end up being a 5 minuite job  )

The little ball end thing sits nice and snug in the runner so im sure thats ok.

Yeah my 1/4 window lines up very well,im guessing someone has probably been fiddling with the 1/4 windows and they have probably either broken or lost the C clips that Coskev was saying about and messed up the cable adjustment at the same time
