never really thought about that much, but when i do:

 

my mates mum had a diesel which we used to take the bins down the road in (long farm road) and genearlly muck around in at about 15-16 years old.

 

i learned to drive and passed my test in a diesel

 

a mate had a junior which although wasn't the quickest and leaned like a range rover, but it could corner like you wouldn't believe. that one was all about keeping the cornering speed high.

 

1995, bought my first 1.6 gti (still have it)

 

can't fix a date exactly, but between 2000 and 2008 i had a ph1 309gti 3 door, a 5dr goodwood 309gti and a phase 1.5 205gti 1.9.

 

not all ownership, but the 205/309 has been somewhere in my life for the past 20 odd years

Started off a 309 gl then had a couple of crap cars in between then had a mint 405 mi owned that for 11 years before some twat ran into the back of it and wrote it off now got a 205 mi and love it

Had a 205 Roland Garros at 18 and then bought my GTI at 20. Still got it and I'm 2 months away from turning 30 now. Also had a 309 Gti for a bit and a 405 Mi16, both of which provided some useful parts when they died.

Thats the car that got me into 205s i now have my first 205 gti in miami blue at 21.

I'm 29 now (sooo nearly in my 30s!) and on my 2nd.

Bought my first in about 2004 I think, had that a few years and then sold it to a friend to fund my 2nd. Turned out it was cheaper to sell my last and buy my latest than buying TB's for my old one, crazy how car prices work.

I can't ever see me selling it now, its just too awesome. I don't think I will ever not own one, the long term plan is to own a couple more

My first Pug was a 309 GRi which i got when I was about 21, and since then I have had a 309 GTi, 2 205 XS's and 2 405 Mi16's, and a few other cars in between. I'm 28 now

Bought my first gti at 19 as I couldn’t afford a Renault 5 turbo. For some strange reason i cant seem to give 205's up, its like a unhealthy addiction, surely there must be counselling available?
