Through the hole in the top of the gearbox, where the reverse cable goes if its BE1, where there is a breather if BE3. However I have to say a search would have told you this answer?

I use to do it from the top, but nowadays I find easier to remove the left hand wheel and do it from the side. Especially standard cars where access is difficult.

I found this in B&Q the other week and its the perfect fit to fill from the top...

Small end fits in the hole just right, flexible section, its even got a filter to stop you dropping crap in the box while you're filling!

Speaking from experience, as good as it might be, you still really need to be able to see the gearbox because with the amount of oil you can fit into the funnel & the rate at which the gearbox fills through the breather hole, you are very likely to have a spillage.

Slowly slowly, catchy monkey.

Absolutely agree... wouldn't dream of just lobbing the oil in the top of the funnel and hoping for the best!!

I must admit I took the battery out and the dizzy cap off to get a better view of what was going on down there.

And Damir.... yep, been doing that for years for various jobs.... just stumbled across this one that could have been tailor made for the job!! (and really wasn't very expensive either!)
