1.8 16v Box On A Gti6

have the offer of a 1.8 box very cheap, i will fit different clutch fork so its pull type but just cheking it fits ok to the gti block (its xu so i assume it will) and also any one any ideas on the ratios of the 1.8 16v box.

 

Any help/advice would be great,

A friend of mine has a 306 1.8, the thing that strikes me most whenever i drive it is how long the gears are! From what i can remember the gear change points are something like 70 in 2nd, maybe 100 in 3rd with the 1.8 6500rpm limit.

70mph cruise is probably around 3200rpm (I notice these things because im incredibly fussy about gear ratios!)

 

Its totally unsuitable for anything sporting in my opinion <_<

humm some one posted similare results on the 306 forum, does seem mighty long!

 

will be even worse to with a higher rev limit...

 

but at £25 i am tempted?

 

any idea what the 2.0 16v 137bhp 306 ratios are like?
