Changed Back To Standard Induction Setup Question...

Recommended Posts

davey205

Just changed back to standard induction setup with a K and N in airbox.

Occasionly revs drop very suddenly when your in neutral and lift off the gas as opposed to just settling back relatively slowly any ideas?

Also cant get the bracket on the left screwed in the other two are pulling the box to the right should i try bolting the one on the left in first?

At idle it will dip randomly not stall just occasionly dip for no reason, any ideas?

Also sometimes when you take it out of gear the revs drop normally othertimes very quickly.

Any ideas ?

Uneven idle is common, most people do the1500 rpm on the idle to keep in ok. Mines a hunts a little but I will have the later setup so slightly improved.

Common problems

leak in pipework, check for splits

Dirty SAD, take off pipe - squirt carb cleaner down it, search forum for SAD checking as may be stuck

Dirty Idle screw(brass) on top of throttle. Remove and squirt copious amounts of carb cleaner in,

Have you checked the TPS for correct operation Haynes manual.

Just looked at one of the sad hoses held on wit a zip tie so will change that.

The TPS clicks when you go off idle.

It idles pretty steady im just wanting to find out what causes the sudden violent drop in revs only say twice a minute on average.

It didn't do this while I had the induction kit on just started happening since reverted back to standard intake

Doesn't matter if the TPS clicks or not, that isn't an indication that it works!

changing back to the original layout shouldn't cause issues like this, but the parts you moved can have an effect.

ruled out air leak - all hoses fine and secured

sad is clean - basically new

idle screw is clean

so it must be the tps, can i run with it disconnected to see if its that?

Yes you can - you'll just lose full-throttle enrichment and fuel-cut on overrun.
