Catalyst Owners Which Petrol Do You Use

i know the old kangarooing pre cat boys have to use the 97 good stuff but does it make any difference to the catalyst models ,just thinking mines getting slower since switching to the cheap stuff, or maybe its my imagination and im just getting used to it now seems strange the petrol companies never claim that it gives an extra amount of power in there adverts..

I always use either Tesco super or Shell V-power in mine, could all be in my head but I tried regular stuff in mine and it felt terrible!

When mine was a 1.9 GTi cat (L reg model) I only used Shell normal 95 unleaded. Reason? Well, I tried running it on Shell Optimax (prior to V-Power) and tried other 97+ fuels at the time as comparison and my CAT model really hated the 97+ / Optimax stuff and ran a little bit badly. Put back in the Shell 95 normal unleaded and it was happy as larry. Weird, but true.

 

Its a GTi6 now (still with sports cat) and its run on V-Power as thats what it is mapped too.
