Mi16 Rocker Gasket

Do they have fixed gaskets like the GTI-6 ones or can you buy new gaskets? Also if I take the rocker cover off what are the chances of it resealing with the same gasket?

Wrong section. An Mi is an XU engine, and it has a cam cover (as opposed to a rocker cover).

They have a rubber type gasket and there was a year when it changed (from red to grey IIRC). It's all in your Haynes manual.

If it's not knackered then re-use it. Otherwise they're not that much to buy new, as OE or pattern.

It's all in your Haynes manual. :)

You mean a Haynes book of fiction?

No. It's in there. It explains the difference in tightening orders for the cover bolts and run-up tests based on the different gaskets/years.

If you don't have a Haynes, you should have one. There's a free one in M@tt's signature.

I found the info I was looking for in that online Haynes Manual, cheers Sarty. Haynes manuals in those days were pretty good, they are a total waste of time these days though.
