Quick Brake Pipe Question

What diameter pipe. And size of union nuts. Mine need doing and I'm gonna buy a flare kit and pipe but unsure on size etc. metric/imperial.

3/16" pipe and almost all are M10x1 unions (except for 1.9 rear brake compensators and base model wheel cylinders)

I *think* 1.6 the brake compensator has 1 size going in and one size going out....

I don't think they havve, M10 on both sides. On all my 1.6's anyway iirc but I'll look tomorrow & post if they are duifferent.

Yes, well kind of.

 

The majority of the unions will be M10, all except the rear wheel cylinder ones which as mentioned by Anthony are M12.

They are not M10 as this implies standard pitch which is 1.5.

 

They are 10x1 thread.

 

Similar applies for the larger ones.

has anyone got a list of all the different brake pipe/hose fittings on a 1.9 Gti ?
