Door Lock Issues

Hello all,

 

The lock mechanism in the door won't turn and I cant get into the car. Can I just replace the drivers door lock and not the whole central locking and have a different key for the lock & ignition?

 

Also, would this be a DIY job.

I don't know about the whether or not its a DIY job, but there's no reason why you shouldn't have one lock different to the others (on mine, the boot is different to all the others).

Is it just that the plastic arm (forget the proper term) has fallen off the back of the lock barrel? Have you looked behind the door card?

Haven't had time to look behind the door card yet as it was too dark however I will check tomorrow thanks.

It's not to difficult to remove the barrel, Remove the doorcard and there is a u shaped metal clip that goes around the barrel, just pull this out (can be very tight) then remove the rod from the barrel and job done.

 

Obviously have a look round and see if anything looks amiss first.
