Sump Plug Brass Ring

Hello,

 

I want to buy a new brass washer for the sump plug following an oil change, well part way through!.

 

Does anyone know the part number there are a few on ebay that say will fit a 205 but they have different dimensions and it doesn't say what they refer to - ie thread size, outside, inside dims of washer..

 

The outside diameter of my washer is 22mm and the internal dimension is 16mm

They don't thread on. Any motor factor, gsf even Halfords should be able to supply as they're used on loads of engines. My old pug dealer would give me one free each time I bought a filter.

 

I bought a box of 30 from a unipart dealer (that was the smallest they did) only to realise I had forgotten my wallet. The guy at the counter asked how much I had on me, I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out £2.50. "That'll do". Bargain

never seen a brass one, usually copper washers, in the steel sumps its 16 x 22 - 2mm up to august 93, and 14 x 21 - 2mm from there on.

 

crush washers used on the ally sumps solid on the steel IIRC.

I use a dowty washer on the sump plug on my hdi, saves swapping it every time I change the oil.

Halfrauds will sell you a sump plug and washer off the shelf or they do an assorted box of various washers which is handy to have, alternatively as said any motor factor will sort you out.

I bit the bullet and went to peugeot this morning, they don't sell the old ones anymore but sold me a metal one with a rubber insert for £1.37.

Thats a dowty washer & reuseable, even though a bit expensive for a 50p washer.

 

GSF or any decent motor factors should have the right sump plug copper washer though.
