Slipped Timing Belt

Recommended Posts

Kenballs

Last night I managed to get the timing belt cover off and confirm that my timimg belt got loose somehow, looks like it slipped a tooth but I was wondering: Has anybody ever had this happen and get away without bending valves or other damage? When this happened there was no bang or noise to indicate what had happened, I initially thought my dizzy had failed but eventually figured out the timing has been thrown out

Cheers.

put a new belt on and fix the tensioner, time it up correctly and run it.. it may cost you 50 quid, but you'll find out without having to take the head off.

Yeah that's my plan, I was just wondering what are the chances of getting away with it.

Cheers anyway.
