Gap In Steering Rack?

Recommended Posts

kate205gti

finally put my steering rack and subframe back on today after months of mincing (cheers baz, kenno and anthony for the pics lol ) and now ive got a worrying gap between the uj and the rack :s

the rack is on the subframe properly and the subframe wont go up any more, neither will the UJ come down any - but this gap is a bit concerning

any idea why its got a gap, how to fix it and if it matters any please?

I'm sure that's fine Kate, the splined bit has a notch where the bolt passes though, and the bolt is clearly there. I wouldn't worry about it.

Miles

Undo the bolt inside the car, This allows the join to move down
