Bumper Adjustment

Is there any way of adjusting the front bumper? mine seems to be lower on one side than the other. I have undone the bolts and tried lifting it up but to no avail.

which bolts did you undo?

 

the ones that will affect how it sits are on the actual bumper iron, one on the inner end of the wing stay in the wheelarch, and the other under the inner corner of the headlamp.

So are you talking about the two mouting bars that come out from below the headlights that the bumper bolts to?

 

Or somewhere else?

there are two on each side. on the bar you are talking about

 

one just behind the bumper below the grille and one as mentioned in the wheel arch (attaches the wing mounting bar thingy) to the car.

 

chances are though this will be rusted solid and you'll snap this bolt off .

 

you could also try the actual mounting bolts which go through the bumper as these have a little play in them.

Just had a look on the car im breaking with the bumper removed and the bars move up and down and ive found the bolts your talking about. The bars do move up and down I just hope theres enough movement to get it mounted straight. If not the chassis may be bent.

Just spent the afternoon adjusting the front end of my car. I thought at first it was just the right hand side of the bumper that needed to be lifted up but when i got into it i ended up adjusting the bumper, both lights the grille and the right hand side of the bonnet. The left hand side of the bonnet could still do with a fettle but im very happy with how its turned out. Couple of before and after pictures:
